Checking on the hawk nest at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine the middle of Wednesday afternoon, I got a good look at one of the hawk circling over Morningside Park.
First up around the turtle pond.
And working south.
The darkness of the belly band suggests that this Madeleine, although I'd really like to get a good look at her and Norman together just to be sure I can tell their markings apart.
For a moment it looked like the hawk was going to fly up to the nest.
But a quick turn left.
And away she went out over southwest Harlem.
