6/7, Three Fledges Uptown at Gorman Park

Uptown in the Fort George neighborhood and very close to Gorman Park, the three baby hawks on the fire escape nest have all fledged.

Their nest was on the sixth and top floor of the apartment building. Saturday afternoon, I found one fledgling perched on the fire escape railing up at the roof level.

Preening and scratching.

And looking around.

The next apartment building south, a second fledgling was in the equivalent spot.

Now, where's the third? And why is the first fledgling looking downward so often? Perhaps because the third fledgling is practically right in front of me, perched on the third floor of the fire escape?

He's got that young Clint Eastwood hair style.

ANd is very interested in the traffic at the corner below.

Since the Gorman Park nest is just two wing flaps and a steep plummet to the middle of Broadway, it's excellent to see that these three young hawks have safely exited the nest.
